Montale Paris Beast Love Fragrance Review
Twisted Lily recently sent me a new fragrance release from Montale Paris. As this is the first fragrance from this house on my review desk, I’ll begin with a brief introduction to the brand and its founder.
Twenty years ago, Pierre Montale’s journey in the Kingdom of Arabia sparked his fascination with the Eastern world’s beauty and secrets. Inspired by ancient traditions and rare olfactory materials like oud, rose, incense, amber, cedar, and precious woods, he pioneered innovative perfumery. In 2003, Montale launched his eponymous fragrance house, blending Eastern influences with Western craftsmanship. Each scent reflects his mastery, serving as a testament to his role as the West’s first ambassador of oud and embodying a quest for sensory perfection.
Twisted Lily recently launched a trio of Montale Paris fragrances: Our Fool Roses, Bubble Forever, and Beast Love. Each is celebrated for its distinct beauty. Despite the appeal of all three, after reviewing their descriptions, I ultimately chose to experience Bast Love firsthand.
Montale Paris Beast Love intertwines the contrasting yet complimentary essence of strength and delicacy by mixing the ruggedness of black leather with tenderness of rose. First spray makes a bold statement with dominance of leather and Smokey accords, accompanied by subtle hints of rose lingering in the background. As the fragrance dries, initial intensity softens, revealing the fruity notes of plum and pear. To my nose it has a heavy opening that leans masculine and even though leather stays dominant, once fruity notes emerge the fragrance softens to a unisex scent that leans ever so slightly feminine.

It is a complex fragrance that weaves together a diverse array of notes. Fresh fruitiness of plum and pear, bright zest of Sicilian bergamot, rich tapestry of black leather, white cedar, Turkish rose and Haitian vetiver represent the earthy floral elements while base of vanilla, tonka beans, musk and amber lend the composition a warm sweetness and depth. Beast Love is a fragrance with complex layers that surprisingly result in a pleasant scent. It blends contrasting elements to offer a distinctive olfactory journey. I find it suitable for wearing throughout spring, fall, and winter. However, for summer, it might be best enjoyed as an evening fragrance when temperatures are cooler.
Montale Paris Beast Love boasts a moderately strong sillage and impressive longevity, lingering on the skin throughout the day. Given its complex blend of notes, I’ll advise to try a sample before committing to a full bottle. Twisted Lily offers sample sizes for many of their fragrances, making it convenient to explore before making a purchase decision.
