Three Shades Of Valentino Born In Roma Donna
Inspired by life in Rome, where past and present coexist, Valentino Born in Roma Donna fragrances celebrate self-expression. They honour those who live freely while embracing their heritage. A collection that started with one beautiful floral fragrance lead to the formation of a whole line of flankers for both men and women. Valentino’s born in Roma line invites you to express your unique personality through their scent duos.
Valentino Beauty recently gifted me a set of their three permanent Born in Roma Donna Fragrances for her. Despite of being flankers, they all have their own charm and very distinct moods . Each one tells a different story.

Valentino Born in Roma Donna Eau De Parfum
The one that started it all! The original Valentino Born in Roma Donna EDP is a gorgeous, fresh floral fragrance. Itโs easy to love. Very feminine and playful. The fruity-floral opening has a soft, gentle sweetness. The jasmine notes feel fresh, while the vanilla in the base adds subtle warmth without being too smoky. Itโs a year-round, anytime scent, though I especially enjoy it in spring and summer. I have previously shared it on my instagram a couple of years ago.
Key Notes
- Blackcurrant
- Jasmine Grandiflorum
- Bourbon Vanilla

Valentino Born in Roma Donna Intense Eau De Parfum
Probably my personal favourite among the three is Valentino Born in Roma Donna Intense EDP. I expected it to be just a stronger version of the original, but thatโs not quite the case. Itโs a cozy, warm fragrance, perfect for fall and winter. Here, vanilla appears right at the opening, giving it a smoky start. Jasmine is present, but it is not as airy as in the original. Amber and benzoin add a balsamic touch that deepens the scent beautifully.
Key Notes
- Vanilla
- Jasmine
- Benzoin

Valentino Born in Roma Donna Extradose Parfum
Valentino Born in Roma Donna Extradose Parfum is the newest flanker, and as the name suggests, it packs a punch. Jasmine is notably absent from the composition. The blackcurrant in the opening fades quickly, while the rum and vanilla come through strong right away. The rum adds a boozy touch, but it doesnโt push it fully into that category. Itโs very strong and very sweet, almost sugary. In my opinion, itโs not an everyday scent. Iโd place it more in the night-out category.
Key Notes
- Blackcurrant
- Rum
- Vanilla

Short Comparison
To sum it all up, hereโs a quick comparison of the three:
- Born in Roma Donna EDP : Fresh, floral, and feminine with a soft fruity sweetness. Jasmine-forward with subtle vanilla warmth. Easy to wear year-round, especially great for spring and summer.
- Born in Roma Donna Intense EDP: Cozy and warm. Smoky vanilla opens the scent, with jasmine playing a softer role. Amber and benzoin add depth. Ideal for fall and winter.
- Born in Roma Donna Extradose Parfum: Bold, sweet, and powerful. No jasmine here. Rum and vanilla dominate with a sugary intensity. Not an everyday scent , best for nights out.
As we all know, fragrance is very personal โ your preferences might be completely different from mine. Personally, Intense is my top favorite, though I also really like the original. As for Extradose, I have a more neutral opinion. Itโs a good fragrance, and I didnโt mind wearing it while testing. But for my taste, itโs a bit too sweet and loud. I donโt see myself reaching for it as often as I do for its two sisters.

All three fragrances come in varying colours of the same signature Valentino bottle. An edgy, pyramid-studded glass design that pays tribute to Roman architecture. Projection and longevity are impressive across the collection.
